Here for the Copper Country
Copper Country Habitat for Humanity is a team of local volunteers, board members, and supporters working together to help families build and buy safe, affordable homes.
Our Vision
A world where everyone has a
decent place to live.
Our Mission
Seeking to put God’s love into action,
Habitat for Humanity brings people together
to build homes, communities, and hope.
Affordable Homeownership
We help families in our community access safe, decent housing through affordable homeownership. By keeping mortgage payments low and building homes cost-effectively, we make homeownership possible for those who need a hand up — not a handout.
The Partner Family Model
Families who qualify for our program don’t receive a free home — they partner with us. That means investing sweat equity by helping build their home, participating in homeownership education, and preparing for long-term success.
How It Works
Once selected, families partner with Habitat throughout the homebuilding journey — contributing sweat equity and preparing for homeownership. When the home is complete, it is purchased through an affordable mortgage. The support we receive helps us serve more families and continue building safe, decent homes in our community.
FAQs
-
Families in need of decent, affordable housing apply for homeownership with us.
Our family selection committee selects homeowners based on three criteria:
1. The applicant’s level of need
2. Their willingness to partner with Habitat.
3. Their ability to repay a mortgage through an affordable payment plan
Habitat’s homebuyers invest hundreds of hours of their own labor, called sweat equity, working alongside volunteers and other Habitat homeowners, in addition to paying an affordable mortgage and receiving financial education.
Habitat for Humanity follows a nondiscriminatory policy of family selection. Neither race nor religion is a factor in choosing Habitat’s homeowners.

People in your community and all over the world partner with Habitat to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
